Lake Quivira is a private, gated lake community of roughly 400 homes, built from the late 1920s around a spring-fed, 224-acre lake. Established houses near the water sit alongside newer custom builds, and a staffed gate means access and scheduling matter as much as the glass itself. Westport Glass & Mirror has handled residential and commercial glass since 1947, from custom showers and mirrors to wine cellars, window replacement, storefronts, and specialty glass, all built for Lake Quivira homeowners, builders, and designers.
Shower glass comes in more options than most homeowners expect. We build frameless, semi-frameless, and framed enclosures, plus shower glass replacement for bathroom remodels already underway. Layout, glass thickness, and hardware selection all affect how your shower performs day to day.
Here's a detail worth knowing. We install tempered glass only from suppliers with the highest safety certifications. Some competitors run their own in-house tempering furnace, built to bare-minimum standards. That difference matters over the life of your glass.
Lake Quivira's construction trends lean toward custom, higher-end finishes, and shower glass is often one of the first upgrades homeowners specify. We've built strong partnerships with Lake Quivira-area designers and high-end remodel contractors over the years. That standing in the local trade community backs every install we complete. See our full frameless shower doors page for enclosure styles and hardware options.
Mirror work covers more ground than a single bathroom mirror. We handle custom-cut mirrors, gym and fitness mirrors, framed mirrors, antique mirrors, and backpainted glass. Each option changes how a room feels, from lighting to sense of space.
Precision matters most here. Every mirror gets fabricated to exact size, then installed by a trained team. Our showroom at 625 Southwest Blvd gives Lake Quivira interior designers a place to send clients for in-person options, including antique mirror finishes and backpainted color samples. A short drive via I-435 makes it a practical stop for anyone coordinating a larger remodel. Browse our custom mirror page for finish and style options.
Wine cellar work sits at the top of our specialty offerings. We build custom glass wine cellars, temperature-controlled glass enclosures, and specialty glass integrations for high-end homes. Sealing, visibility, and design coordination with your builder all factor into a cellar that performs and looks right.
This is a high-skill build, and it pairs with decades of fabrication experience dating back to 1947. Newer construction in Lake Quivira's $600K-plus range frequently includes dedicated wine storage as a premium finish feature. That makes our wine cellar work a natural fit for builders and buyers already specifying premium kitchens, smart home systems, and high-end interior finishes. Our design coordination keeps every glass wine cellar working cleanly with the surrounding architecture and builder specifications. Visit our glass wine cellar page for build options.
A handful of specialty services round out our offering. We install glass panel railings, interior and exterior railing systems, glass partitions, and heavy glass walls. We provide safety and threat-resistant glazing, decorative and patterned glass, furniture glass, tabletops, and glass shelving.
Lake Quivira's commercial glass work centers on the community's shared buildings rather than a retail district. We handle clubhouse and amenity-building glass, storefront glass repair and replacement, commercial window and door systems, heavy glass installations, all-glass doors, and custom manufactured glazing.
Window glass, insulated glass units, and patio door glass repair all fall under one service umbrella. Kansas sees hot, humid summers and cold winters. That seasonal swing puts steady stress on glazing systems and speeds up seal failure over time.
Foggy, failed IGUs show up often in Lake Quivira's older, established neighborhoods near the lake, where original glazing has had decades to break down. Our IGU replacement service gives homeowners in these neighborhoods a cost-effective alternative to replacing the entire window. Check our window glass replacement page for details.
Glass tabletops and shelving provide protection and style. We cut glass to size for furniture, shelving, and display applications. Options include polished edges and beveled finishes. Tempered glass is used for durability and safety. Custom glass shelving and tabletops help preserve surfaces while maintaining a clean, modern look.

Lake Quivira, Kansas, is a small, private, gated country-club city in the Kansas City metropolitan area, straddling the Johnson–Wyandotte county line about 20 minutes west of downtown Kansas City. Built in the late 1920s around a spring-fed, 224-acre lake — the largest in Johnson County — by developer Charles Gault, it incorporated as a third-class city in 1971 and remains an exclusive residential community of roughly 400 homes encircling the water. Its lake, sandy Crescent Beach, 18-hole golf course, and clubhouse are private and members-only, reached through a staffed security gate, and the lake is a well-known winter gathering spot for bald eagles. Because the community itself has no public lodging, dining, or parks inside its gates, the places below are the nearest real options in neighboring Shawnee, Lenexa, and Kansas City, Kansas.
We have been using Westport Glass as a company for almost 14 years and as an individual I have for over 23 years. Bob Dugan the owner is one of my all time favorite sub contractors in the KC area. Sean his son, has taken care of us for many years nailing detailed measurements and making sure we have the best products and materials for our custom designed projects. We have the luxury of being down the block on Southwest Boulevard for easy walk in service for our project needs. This company will lead you in the right direction for material and fit and finish.
We had a great experience with Westport Glass. The staff was friendly and informative. We are more than happy with the shower doors they installed! We appreciated their honesty that what I wanted wouldn't work and why it wouldn't work. The installers were friendly and fast. I would recommend Westport Glass to anyone needed shower doors or enclosure. Love that it is a FAMILY run company!
This place is awesome and professional! I can't believe after living all these years in Kansas City I found this mirror company. Their prices are much better and the measurements at Westport Glass & Mirror were spot on and wrapped up perfectly. They also cut my mirrors within 3 hours on a busy Saturday when they were short handed. From now on, I won't use anyone else.
