Bonner Springs, Kansas, is a historic city on the western edge of the Kansas City metro, spread across parts of Wyandotte, Leavenworth, and Johnson counties on the north bank of the Kansas River, about 20 minutes west of downtown KC. The area began as the Chouteau family's "Four Houses" fur-trading post in 1812 — reputedly the first permanent European settlement in Kansas — and incorporated as a city in 1898, taking its name from the mineral springs nearby. Today it blends small-town charm with big regional draws: the outdoor Azura Amphitheater, the National Agricultural Center and Hall of Fame, the famous marble-making demonstrations at the Moon Marble Company, the annual Kansas City Renaissance Festival, Sunflower Hills Golf Course, and a walkable downtown of local shops and eateries — all just minutes from the Village West and Kansas Speedway entertainment district.
